The Friends of Upminster Windmill give visitors FREE
conducted tours of this 200-year-old windmill, which has most of its original
wooden machinery in place. On a windy day the sails and the cap can turn. |

ADVICE TO VISITORSWe urge that sensible clothing and shoes should be worn when visiting the mill. The stairs are steep and draughty and loose shoes, such as flip-flops, and full skirts could be a problem. Health and Safety requirements imposed upon us do not allow us to take children under 5 above the ground floor of the mill. Children between 5 and 16 should be in the care of a responsible adult. The Duty Steward has the responsibility of ensuring visitors’ safety and may refuse entry. |
