How to find Upminster Windmill
Entrance to the Mill is on the A124 (St. Mary's Lane, Upminster, RM14 2QL), 200 yds. west of the traffic lights in Upminster town centre. Transport The 248 and 370 buses both pass the entrance to the windmill. Both Upminster (C2C & District line) and Upminster Bridge stations are about 1/2 mile from the windmill. Both bus routes also pass these stations. Parking Parking is normally available on the field in front of the windmill. However when it is very wet cars have have to be parked in nearby roads. Disabled Access Access to the windmill is somewhat limited because this was a working mill and was not designed to accommodate wheelchairs. However we do our best. There is a hard path from the road to the door of the windmill and there is parking on the field so that cars can drop off passengers. Access above the ground floor is by means of steep staircases only. There is a ground floor video display explaining the history and working of the mill. |
