From the Editor
As I write this we are looking forward to the first Open Day of the season. We have given the Mill a thorough cleaning ready for the great day on Saturday 5th April. Posters are out and we are looking forward to receiving visitors again.
A reminder to everyone that the second weekend in May, Saturday and Sunday 10th and 11th, is National Mills Weekend. This is a good chance to see other Mills and tell them about ours.
Publicity for our Open Days is very important, and one way is making sure that our posters and other notices are distributed to the people and shops that agree to show them. If anyone could help us distribute them, and / or suggest other ways of publicising our Open Days please email me. I should add that we email the local papers, the nearby Residents’ Associations, letters have been sent to schools. The local libraries are supplied with leaflets and posters.
We also would welcome more volunteers for guides and stewards, even if you can only help one day a month, please contact Trevor Watts or myself.
I will close with a reminder that our Annual Meeting which will be on Wednesday 14th May in the New Windmill Hall. If anyone would like to help the Friends by serving on the Committee, as we have 3 vacancies, please let me know.

The Annual Meeting of The Friends of Upminster Windmill will be held in the New Windmill Hall on Wednesday 14th May 2008 at 8pm. Agendas etc will be available at the meeting. Details of AOB to the Secretary one week before the meeting please.
